Hi everyone! My name is Jessica Austreng and I am currently a senior here at UWGB. I am double majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and will be graduating this December. I am currently the marketing intern for Georgia Pacific and have been with the company for a little less than a year now. I also worked as the special events intern for the Einstein Project last summer and would actually love to be an event planner when I graduate. I would ultimately love to be a wedding planner but would love the opportunity to be the special events coordinator for any type of company after I graduate. I look forward to taking this class with you in hopes of improving my writing skills and learning more about the tricks to news reporting.
Hey Jessica. I think it is really impressive that you are a marketing intern for such a large company in the Green Bay area. Being a special events planner would be so much fun, I think. You never know it may just work out that you can do special events and wedding planning all in one!

After graduation would you like to work for an event planning service or start your own? I know wit can be kind of hard to get into that industry, but I can imagine that it would be extremely rewarding. Best of luck with the rest of the class! I can't wait to read the stories you write!
ReplyDeleteHi Samantha! I think that after graduation, I would prefer to work for an event planning company so that I can learn and gain the experience that I would need. But I could definitely see myself in the future starting my own event planning service. That would be the dream! Thanks for the comment!

I did a little event planning at my last internship and absolutely loved it. It is very awesome that you are a marketing intern, marketing is another career path I find interesting!

Hi Lindsay! I just have always loved planning events ever since I was a little kid. I always wanted to plan my birthday parties, and really and big thing that I had going on in my life. I guess I just really love seeing the final project after all the hard work you put into creating it and seeing everyone have a great time because of all the effort you put forth.
